RF door locking device

Client:

Manufacturer of systems for residence facilities.

Problem:

Fire codes require that all doors be unlocked to allow quick escape in case of a fire.

Solution:

Lin Technologies  engineers designed a radio controlled locking device for doors. Residents wear a small transmitter that locks the door when they come into range. The doors unlock when they leave the area.  An activated fire alarm over- rides the system, keeping all doors unlocked, regardless of the presence of a transmitter.

Result:

With our client's system in place, staff and visitors are able to move about the facility freely, while residents are gently prevented from leaving secured areas.
